Suwan Kongkhunthian

Suwan is a leading Thai personality widely admired for his distinctive design style. His furniture design had won multiple accolades at the Cologne Furniture Fair and in Japan. Preferring to work hands-on with materials, Suwan possesses the gift to transform materials from their raw beauty to fine contemporary works of art.

Suwan Kongkhunthien and ML Pavinee Santisiri, a group of interior designers, set up a company together at 1984 and at 1985 a retail showroom is open under the name of "Sukhanthabudh" at the Peninsular Plaza. At 1987 the Yothaka's first factory is opened at Nonthaburi province with 10 staff, but at 1990 the first "official" factory is open at Phrathumthani province with 60 staff, at 2000 a new Yothaka factory is open at the Phrathumthani province with 150 staff. The first "exclusive" collection is created at 1964 for Century Furniture for the Hight Point Fair, North Carolina.
